BMA registers nine new re/insurers in May

The Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) confirmed nine new re/insurance entity registrations in May 2021.

Among the new re/insurers registered in May were five new restricted special purpose insurers (SPI), including Wrigley Re, Radnor Re 2021-1, Bellemeade Re 2021-2, Titania Re and Baldwin Re.

The BMA also registered two new class three re/insurers - SEROAM Bermuda Insurance ISAC and Autolinx Bermuda ISA - and a class two multi-owner captive, Sundial Insurance Bermuda. North End Re, a class E long term re/insurer, also received approval to operate in Bermuda.

The BMA has registered 27 new re/insurance entities in total in 2021 to the end of May.
