AXIS unveils new global A&H head
AXIS Insurance has announced that James “Jay” Hamilton has been appointed to the newly created role of global head of accident & health insurance, effective immediately.
Hamilton will be responsible for leading AXIS Insurance’s accident & health business in both the US and international markets. He will report directly to AXIS Insurance chief executive officer (CEO) Peter Wilson and will be based in Chicago.
“Jay has built a strong reputation within the accident & health insurance market and is a trusted partner to many of our most strategic A&H brokers and clients,” said Wilson. “His appointment to global head of A&H insurance reaffirms our commitment to ensuring we remain a valued partner to our clients and brokers in the Accident & Health insurance market. We look forward to the leadership contributions Jay will make in this new role.”
A 30-year insurance industry leader, Hamilton joined AXIS in 2010. He served for eight years as executive vice president and CEO, North America Insurance, for the company’s accident & health business unit. Prior to joining AXIS, he spent 10 years at Chubb, where he was responsible for the firm’s North American accident & health business. He was previously vice president of CNA’s group accident insurance and reinsurance product lines in the US and Canada.
