AXIS teams up with Simply Business to offer protection for home-based businesses

AXIS Insurance has partnered with Simply Business, a digital insurance agency, to offer a new product intended for US small business owners who conduct business from their homes.

AXIS Home Based Business insurance Homeowners’ insurance policies may not cover commercial losses, meaning entrepreneurs who run their businesses from home may have gaps in their coverage. The Home Based Business policy intends to fill these key gaps and will offer customised coverage that is designed specifically for the unique environment in which a home business operates.

Peter Wilson, chief executive of AXIS Insurance, said the product is “designed to deliver at-home business owners confidence and protection to succeed.”

Simply Business offers small business insurance policies on behalf of a panel of carriers. David Summers, chief executive of the business, said: “Being able to offer this product reflects our continuing mission to serve the unique needs of small business owners, and it comes at a critical moment, as many entrepreneurs have been forced to work from their homes due to the pandemic.”
