Aspen international head named for onshore energy and construction expansion

Aspen Insurance, the Bermuda-based insurance segment of Aspen Insurance Holdings, has expanded its onshore energy and construction lines with the appointment of Erik Armellino as its international head.

Armellino will lead the expansion and will report to Ann Haugh, president of Aspen International Insurance and chief operating officer of Aspen Insurance.

He has more than 20 years of experience managing a broad range of energy and construction insurance products.

He has held positions as head of underwriting performance and head of property direct and facultative at Advent Underwriting and has also worked as global head of heavy industries and as the deputy regional manager for the energy and construction segments at Liberty International.

Armellino has also worked in underwriting leadership positions with AIG in London and started his career as a risk engineer for Factory Mutual Group.
