American International Group executive Robert Tartaglia (pictured) is to join Aspen Insurance Holdings as senior vice president and chief operations officer, tasked with leading the company's transformation efforts across insurance operations.
Tartaglia, who was most recently operational strategy and growth leader at AIG, where he led transformation initiatives around organisational design, operational effectiveness, and technology implementation for the company’s high net worth division, will join Aspen on July 3.
Tartaglia has more than 20 years of complex global operations, IT, and transformation experience in insurance and reinsurance, including global chief operating officer at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty, chief broking COO at Aon, and various senior operations and technology roles at AIG.
Tartaglia will have a particular focus on driving process, data and systems excellence to support its commercial and business strategy and will be based in Aspen’s offices in Jersey City.
Rob Houghton, group Chief operations officer, Aspen, said: “I am delighted that Robert has agreed to join Aspen. His experience in insurance operations and his leadership in transformation will be invaluable to the success of the insurance segment as we look to build state of the art, back-office operations.
“I am pleased that we are able to attract such industry-leading talent to our team. Robert’s appointment is testament to the market reputation Aspen has built over the years and the strength of our insurance division.”
