
Argus scholarship entry opens
Entries have opened for Argus Group’s Sheila Nicoll scholarship program.
The award was announced last August in in honour of the former chair, who retired last year. Down. It offers $15,000 a year award annually for three years, with the successful applicant also being offered holiday employment opportunities with Argus during school breaks.
The company is interested in applications from undergraduates studying actuarial science, business, economics, finance, insurance and risk management, mathematics, pure science, biology, chemistry, information technology, engineering and environmental sciences. The company says that the student must be outstanding academically and demonstrate a financial need.
“The Sheila Nicoll Argus Award honours and recognizes the outstanding contribution that Sheila made to the Argus Group,” said Alison Hill, Argus Group CEO. We are grateful for her enduring commitment to the company and to Bermuda. This is a fitting way to show our appreciation and look forward to offering this award to a deserving student.”
Nicoll was a member of the Argus Group board of directors for 14 years and the chair from 2008 until her retirement in 2021.
The award application can be found at argus.bm/ourfutureisyou or on the Bermuda Scholarships website. The deadline for submission is 29 April 2022.
