ArgoGlobal strengthens political violence and war underwriting with three appointments

ArgoGlobal, the Lloyd’s insurer, has appointed Henry Gillingham as a political violence and war class underwriter, a new segment for Argo’s Syndicate 1200.

Meanwhile, Chris Marsh joins as an underwriter, and Chris Sparrow has been appointed as an underwriting assistant. All three appointments join from StarStone.

Marsh and Sparrow report to Gillingham, while Gillingham reports to Jeremy Shallow, head of specialty.

Gillingham has nearly two decades of underwriting experience and at StarStone served as head of political violence and war after earlier roles at Talbot. Marsh was previously an underwriter of terror and political violence, and before StarStone spent five years in the terrorism and political violence division at Neon Underwriting. Sparrow was previously an underwriting assistant.

Shallow said: “In an unstable world, there is increasing demand from clients for coverage against these risks and our underwriters have an excellent market reputation as effective leaders, with access to appropriate capacity and an ability to influence price and policy conditions. Their combined experience of our new arrivals will enhance the breadth of services we can offer our clients.”
