ArgoGlobal, the Lloyd’s insurer and member of Bermuda-based Argo Group, has appointed Ross MacDonald as deputy general liability class underwriter.
MacDonald brings more than 15 years of underwriting and broking experience in the casualty market to ArgoGlobal. He joins the firm from from Zurich Global Corporate UK, where he served as team leader for casualty specialty lines.
MacDonald will report to Nick Lawrence, general liability class underwriter.
Prior to joining Zurich in 2011, MacDonald spent more than a decade as a broker, culminating with his appointment as a senior casualty broker at JLT. He began his career in 2000 as a graduate trainee at Marsh.
“Ross is a highly accomplished underwriter who will be a significant asset to our casualty team,” said Lawrence.
“He has a proven track record of portfolio management and identifying and developing growth areas. We have significant ambitions for our casualty portfolio and Ross will play a key role in the realisation of our goals. I am very pleased to welcome him to the team.”
