Argo CEO off for health reasons

Argo CEO Kevin Rehnberg is to take a temporary leave of absence, with chairman Thomas Bradley stepping in as acting chief executive officer of the Bermuda-based re/insurer.

A US Securities and Exchange Commission filing states that Rehnberg, who became CEO at the end of 2019, will be temporarily unable to perform his duties for health reasons. The group does not expect Rehnberg’s leave to impact the filing of its Annual Report for the year ended 31 December 2021.

Bradley has served on Argo’s board of directors since 2018 and has been chairman since 2020. He will assume all Rehnberg’s authority, duties and responsibilities during the absence.

“We all wish Kevin the best as he focuses on restoring his health,” Bradley said. “He has made great progress toward transforming Argo Group over the past few years. The board of directors has absolute confidence in the strong leadership team Kevin has assembled and is impressed by the continued commitment among all employees across the company.”

He added: “I’ve had the privilege of working closely with the executive team and do not expect any disruption to our daily course of business,” Bradley concluded.
