AIG global property head joins AXIS Capital

AXIS Capital has appointed Robert "Bob" Quane as head of underwriting and portfolio optimisation.

Quane joins from a 22-year career at AIG, having most recently served as head of global commercial property. He also served as head of global group personal insurance and chief operating officer

He will be responsible for leading AXIS' group underwriting function, working in partnership with its business segments. This includes establishing and maintaining AXIS’ group-wide underwriting framework, guidelines and policies, in addition to overseeing its portfolio optimisation process.

Furthermore, Quane will manage AXIS' group-wide exposure-management and underwriting risk frameworks and chair its peril and product boards.

Quane will report to Eric Gesick, group chief underwriting officer at AXIS, and will be based in the company's New York office.
