Aeolus hires Dailey to enhance its cat modelling capabilities

Aeolus Capital Management has appointed Peter Dailey as head of research at Aeolus Services Corp, its US subsidiary.

Dailey is experienced in climate catastrophe model development and analytics and brings more than 20 years of industry experience to Aeolus. He joins from Risk Management Solutions (RMS) where he served as vice president of model development, managing the US Inland Flood Model product suite. He also led RMS’ global event response teams and contributed to developing strategy around modeling climate change risk for the industry.

Before RMS Dailey founded Urban Enterprise Partners, a consultancy offering custom modeling solutions to re/insurance and capital markets clients, including real-time hurricane forecasting. He has also served as vice president at AIR Worldwide where he led model development for key perils including North Atlantic hurricanes, North American winter storms, and European extra-tropical cyclones. He also managed AIR’s real-time forecasting service.

In his new role Dailey is based in the US and reports to Frank Fischer, partner and chief analytics officer.

Fischer highlighted Dailey’s “exceptional and unique experience as a leading researcher at each of the world’s most widely utilised catastrophe modeling firms.” His “deep knowledge of catastrophe models and climate analytics will greatly enhance our technical ability to evaluate risk now and in the future,” he added.
