Acrisure Re, which has a strong presence in Bermuda, has hired Craig Darling to lead its newly launched operation in Florida as executive vice president and office head.
Darling, who joins from Guy Carpenter where he was managing director, will manage property and casualty lines of business in Florida as well as other areas of the southeastern United States, reporting to Acrisure’s Re CEO, Simon Hedley. He will also join the firm’s North American executive team.
According to reports, Hedley said in a statement: “[Criag’s] creative and entrepreneurial broking skills, combined with his continued success of creating new business opportunities, will be an excellent asset to our business.”
Darling joined Guy Carpenter the company in 2006 when it was called JLT Re and held executive roles such as executive chairman of JLT Re Ventures and CEO of JLT Re North America. Before the company was sold in 2019, Darling was board member of JLT Re for North America.
Before that, he was managing director of Willis Re’s North America division, working in its P&C treaty business for the New York region and its US facultative and program business.
