Specialty re/insurer IQUW Bermuda has appointed James Mitchell (pictured), a Guy Carpenter senior executive with RenaissanceRe and Aon chops to be its chief underwriting officer (CUO).
Mitchell will lead all reinsurance underwriting at IQUW Bermuda and help shape its culture, with a mandate to build strategic client and broker relationships, the re/insurer said.
He joins from Guy Carpenter, where he was managing director of global specialties and North American treaty. Before that, he spent 13 years at RenaissanceRe in senior roles across Bermuda and London, following earlier underwriting positions at Catlin Underwriting Agencies and Aon.
