Hiscox appoints interim CFO

Specialist global insurer Hiscox has appointed Liz Breeze as its interim group chief financial officer.

Breeze will take on the role from January 1, working with Aki Hussain, group chief financial officer and CEO designate, while the group searches for a permanent replacement. Based in London, she will also join the Group Executive Committee.

She has been with Hiscox since 2012, working in a number of senior finance roles, including group technical accountant and head of finance for Hiscox UK. Most recently, she was chief financial officer for Hiscox Re & ILS, where she drove significant improvements in financial systems and capital efficiency.

A chartered accountant, Breeze trained with KPMG and previously worked as part of its insurance practice in London and Bermuda.

Hussain welcomed her appointment: “Liz has a deep understanding of our business, having spent time in both our big-ticket and retail operations.  She has also been an important participant in our work to embed structural finance change as part of our multi-year finance transformation programme.”
