Hiscox appoints independent director
Hiscox has appointment of former investment banker Jane Guyett as an independent non-executive director and chair of its remuneration committee.
The Bermuda-based re/insurer has also begun a search for a permanent chair of Hiscox following the death of Jonathan Bloomer in the sinking of the luxury yacht Bayesian in which Bloomer and his wife Judy were killed.
Hiscox said Guyett is a highly experienced non-executive director, having held a range of roles across both the public and private sectors. These include serving as Senior independent director at UK Government Investments and as chair of the remuneration committee at the Royal London Mutual Insurance Society.
Guyett has over 25 years of extensive executive experience, predominantly in the banking sector across EMEA and Asia. This includes 15 years at Bank of America Securities, latterly as chief operating officer for EMEA. She was awarded a CBE in 2021 for services to the UK economy.
Colin Keogh, Hiscox interim chair, said: "Jane has an impressive combination of extensive global executive experience and a track record of contributing to effective boards and committees in a variety of capacities. These attributes will be valuable as the business continues its ambitious growth trajectory."
Independent non-executive director Lynn Pike will serve as interim senior independent director, and Keogh will cease to be a member of the Remuneration Committee upon Guyett's appointment.
