Brookfield Re to change name

Brookfield Reinsurance's shareholders have agreed to plans for the company to change its name to Brookfield Wealth Solutions in the future. 

The shareholders also voted in a board of directors, made up of five directors - Soonyoung Chang, William Cox, Michele Coleman Mayes, Lars Rodert and Anne Schaumburg - elected by Class A shareholders and five - Barry Blattman, Gregory Morrison, Lori Pearson, company CEO Sachin Shah and Jay Wintrob - elected by Class B shareholders.  

Brookfield Re has become a leading Bermuda life and property and casualty re/insurer, having acquired two leading US life and annuity companies and Argo Group, a property and casualty re/insurer which was founded in Bermuda and has substantial operations on the island.
