BILTIR appoints Coslow as director of policy and regulation
Bermuda International Long Term Insurers and Reinsurers (BILTIR) has appointed Todd Coslow as director of policy and regulation, strengthening its engagement on legislative and regulatory matters affecting Bermuda’s long-term re/insurance sector.
Coslow has joined the Bermuda International Long Term Insurers and Reinsurers (BILTIR) and will lead the association’s work on regulatory and legislative matters impacting the industry. He will work with member companies, regulators and other stakeholders to support policy engagement, industry collaboration and advocacy initiatives.
In the role, Coslow will also support BILTIR’s member committees and working groups, provide analysis of emerging policy developments and facilitate dialogue between member companies and regulatory bodies.
Coslow brings more than 20 years of experience across insurance, financial services regulation, risk management and government affairs. Most recently, he was founder and managing consultant of Cosmo Creek Enterprises, advising banking, insurance and fintech clients on governance, operational resilience and regulatory risk.
Before that, he worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, where he led supervisory and policy initiatives covering cybersecurity, third-party services and compliance.
He also held several leadership positions with the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS), including chair of the Operational Resilience Working Group and co-lead of the Fintech Forum, working with regulators and policymakers across multiple jurisdictions.
Suzanne Williams, chief executive officer of BILTIR, said: “As regulatory and policy discussions continue to evolve, our Director of Policy & Regulation ensures BILTIR remains actively engaged on issues affecting the long-term sector. Todd’s experience navigating complex global regulatory issues, combined with his background working across supervisory authorities and the re/insurance industry, will further strengthen our ability to represent our members.”
Coslow said: “Bermuda plays a significant role in the global industry, and thoughtful policy engagement on behalf of our members and stakeholders is crucial to the jurisdiction’s continued development. BILTIR champions the interests of Bermuda’s long term re/insurance market, and I am excited to be able to contribute to the team’s work.”
