Aspen promotes new head of credit and political risk
Bermuda-based Aspen Insurance Holdings has promoted Sacha Karlsson to head of credit and political risk in its London office.
Karlsson has been with Aspen since 2018 and brings more than 14 years of underwriting experience, most recently as Head of credit and structured risks.
Prior to joining Aspen, Karlsson was a senior broker at Willis Towers Watson and served at Liberty Specialty Markets as an underwriter for global financial risks. She maintains an ACII qualified designation with the Chartered Insurance Institute.
Karlsson will lead the company’s credit and political risk underwriting team, overseeing both its underwriting strategy and risk management capabilities.
Erik Armellino, executive vice president, portfolio director, specialty insurance, said: “Sacha’s promotion is yet another example of the proven talent we have at Aspen, further highlighting her expertise in credit and political risk insurance products and experience in providing clients the best protection for their needs. We look forward to the insights and depth of knowledge that Sacha will bring to our CPR team in her new role.”
Karlsson assumes this role following the appointments of Dan Osman, to the combined roles of active underwriter, Lloyd’s Syndicate 4711, and CUO, Aspen Insurance UK (AIUK), and Sarah Stanford to CEO, Aspen UK.
