Ascot focuses on technology to deliver growth

Ascot Group is aiming to harness technology to expand its business in the wake of the appointment of Ian Grayson to the new role of chief information officer for UK/Bermuda.

Grayson, previously chief information officer for Aon UK, will be responsible for developing and executing a technology transformation strategy and driving technology-based innovation and growth to support the company’s robust UK and Bermuda platforms.

He will report to Owen Williams, Chief Information Officer, Ascot Group and is based in the company’s London office.

Ascot said Grayson is a proven, results-driven IT professional with over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry and the London insurance market and substantial experience leading global technology teams. He will be tasked with harnessing the latest technology solutions to further advance our underwriting and claims processes and accelerate our digital transformation.

“Ian is an experienced executive with technical expertise that spans both foundational and emerging technologies,” said Williams. “As we propel our digital capabilities forward with a modern-era approach to our operations, Ian’s knowledge, leadership and perspective will allow Ascot to remain on the technological forefront of the industry.”

Grayson spent more than two decades in roles of increasing responsibility in the technology sector at Aon. Most recently, he served as Chief Information Officer, Aon UK, responsible for all technology delivery, M&A, IT risk and compliance at the organization with a focus on driving efficiency, revenue growth, increasing market share and employee engagement.
