Ascot appoints Stephen O’Flynn as SVP of underwriting

Bermuda-based specialty re/insurer Ascot Group has named former Ariel Re non-property treaty head Stephen O’Flynn (pictured) as senior vice president and underwriter.

Based in Bermuda, O’Flynn will report to Sean Ramlal, head of casualty and professional underwriting.

O’Flynn has three decades of industry experience. Before his more than six-year tenure at Ariel Re, he spent close to eight years at Tokio Millennium Re AG in various VP roles, eight years at Allied World Reinsurance Company and nearly eight years at Gen Re.

Ramlal said: “We are excited for Steve to join Ascot Re as senior vice president, casualty treaty. With three decades of industry experience and an extensive network of market relationships, his deep expertise across casualty and professional lines significantly enhances the strength and depth of our underwriting team.”
