Arch names Everest’s Giacomo Mariani as Italy branch manager

Arch Insurance EU has appointed Giacomo Mariani (pictured) as Italy branch manager, with the former Everest executive set to oversee the newly opened Milan office as Arch expands its local insurance operations.

Based in Milan, he will oversee the branch’s day-to-day operations, business development and broker engagement.

Mariani brings more than 14 years of experience in the Italian insurance market. He joins Arch from Everest, where he was head of Italy, and has previously held team leadership roles at Aon and Zurich.

Arch’s Milan office recently began writing accident & health, cargo & logistics, fine art & specie, general liability and property business.

The office forms part of Arch’s strategy to deepen local market engagement through dedicated regional platforms and expand its underwriting capabilities across key lines of business.
