Appleby re-hires partner after three years at Fortitude Re

Law firm Appleby has unveiled a new partner in its Bermuda office, who re-joins the firm after three years working in industry.

Gary Harris (Pictured) is re-joins the Bermuda office from Fortitude Re where he has been head of legal and compliance in Bermuda for close to three years.

Harris was with the law firm for six years before moving in-house. He initially joined Appleby in 2014 where he advised commercial insurers, special purpose vehicles, insurtech companies, segregated account companies, captives, banks, and investment firms.

Harris said: “Appleby has always had a stellar insurance team, which has only grown in the breadth and depth of its offering since I was previously with the firm. I am excited to re-join Appleby’s talented team in Bermuda and help our corporate clients achieve their strategic, corporate, and regulatory objectives.
