Randall Gerardes joins Assured Guaranty as managing director of public finance marketing

Assured Guaranty, the Bermuda-based provider of credit enhancement products, has named Randall Gerardes as managing director of public finance marketing.

Gerardes is responsible for developing relationships with public finance professionals on sales, trading, and syndicate desks. He reports to Chris Chafizadeh, senior managing director of public finance marketing.

Gerardes has 20 years of experience in municipal research, analysis, and transaction underwriting. He joins from Wells Fargo Securities where he has spent the last eight years as head of municipal strategy for fixed income research.

Earlier in his career he spent three years as an analyst at MBIA before spending six years at Assured Guaranty as a director in the public finance group. He left Assured Guaranty in 2011 to join AIG’s asset management group as senior research analyst, later becoming sector lead for transportation, infrastructure, energy, and high yield holdings.

Chafizadeh said Gerardes will play an integral role in growing its reach in the municipal market. “His significant experience, industry knowledge, and relationships within the municipal market will help in further building our leadership position,” he added.
