XL Insurance Company SE names new underwriting officer

AXA XL has named Paul-Henri Rastoul as the chief underwriting officer for XL Insurance Company SE (XLICSE).

Based in Dublin, he is responsible for developing core underwriting strategies and optimising product offering and profitability for XLICSE. He also joins AXA XL’s international property and casualty (P&C) leadership team.

Rastoul was most recently president director at Mandiri AXA General Insurance and commissioner at AXA Mandiri Financial Services. He first joined AXA in 1992 and has 27 years’ experience in insurance, having started his career as a corporate finance lawyer with AXA Group

Since then he has held a number of senior positions, including: president director of PT Asuransi AXA Indonesia; chief technical officer and executive committee member at AXA Spain; group head of commercial lines and reinsurance regional director at AXA Global P&C; chief underwriter and chief claims officer at AXA France; and senior vice president and chief underwriter at AXA Asia Regional.

XLICSE provides insurance within Europe and Asia, operating through an international network of branches, subsidiaries and third-party partners.
