PartnerRe strengthens life and health team in France

PartnerRe has appointed Gilles Thivant as director of the French market for life and health, based in Paris.

Thivant assumes responsibility for the strategic development of PartnerRe's life reinsurance activities in France and reports to Pascale Gallego, deputy general manager for life and health in Europe, the Middle East and Latin America (EMELA).

Thivant spent most of his career in the sector with SCOR, which he joined in 1997. Since 2006, he has been France director of SCOR Vie. Before joining SCOR he was head of group insurance at AXA Conseil.

Thivant's appointment follows several recent appointments that have strengthened the French market team. Dominique Bruneau-Dansan, head of medical underwriting, claims and contracts for EMELA, and Claire Jézéquel, France Vie underwriter, joined PartnerRe in May and August 2019, respectively.
