PartnerRe appoints Jeffrey Ryan as head of financial risks

PartnerRe has appointed Jeffrey Ryan as head of financial risks, with responsibility for the leadership of the global financial risks team and portfolio.

Ryan took up his post on May 1. He is based in Stamford and reports to Greg Haft, PartnerRe’s CEO for specialty lines.

Ryan has spent the majority of his 30-year career underwriting or in leadership positions related to credit and bond, mortgage and other financial risks. He was most recently head of credit, bond and mortgage at Axis Re.

Haft highlighted Ryan’s strong background in surety and mortgage, and his reputation among clients. Under his leadership, the financial risks team “will work to ensure that we are well positioned to navigate the changing economic environment,” he said.
