MS Amlin Underwriting appoints Margot Cronin as an independent NED

MS Amlin Underwriting, the Lloyd’s re/insurer, has appointed Margot Cronin to its board as a notified independent non-executive director, effective from January 1, 2021.

Cronin has over 30 years of leadership experience and spent the last 18 years of her executive career with Aviva in several senior, group and regional roles. She also holds board positions at HSBC Life, Prudential International and Tesco Underwriting, where she also chairs the risk committee.

She will also become a member of the risk, audit, underwriting oversight and nominations committees for MS Amlin Underwriting. She will assume chairmanship of the risk committee from when the current Chair, Gilles Bonvarlet, steps down. Gilles will remain on the board until March 31, 2021 to allow for a smooth handover.

The appointment is subject to regulatory approval.

Johan Slabbert, chief executive of MS Amlin Underwriting, described Cronin as “an accomplished and experienced industry practitioner.”
