MS Amlin names head of casualty to complete specialty reorganisation

MS Amlin has appointed Stuart Wood as head of casualty, completing the process of naming heads of its five specialty divisions.

Wood has nearly twenty years of underwriting experience, and has been a member of the MS Amlin team for more than ten years. He was previously a class underwriter for international professional indemnity, responsible for international (non-US) professional indemnity within the combined Syndicate 3210/2001 operation. He has held similar roles at Hiscox Insurance, Limit Syndicate 2000 and Glemham Underwriting.

He reports to Mark Clements and Andrew Wright, co-chief underwriting officers of MS Amlin Underwriting.

MS Amlin’s specialty business consists of five divisions: crisis management, property, marine, natural resources and casualty.

Tom Clementi, chief executive officer of MS Amlin Underwriting, said: “[Wood] has established himself as an integral member of the MS Amlin team since joining in 2012 and his breadth of leadership experience and market expertise make him well-placed to help drive our strategy forwards.”
