Montpelier Re appoints new head of capital markets

Montpelier Re appoints Daniel Brookman as senior vice president and head of capital markets. He will also serve as chief operating officer for Blue Capital.

Brookman will be responsible for managing capital markets for Montpelier “with an initial focus on developing...underwriting partnership business”. He will report to William Pollett, chief corporate development and strategy officer at Montpelier.

Brookman previously worked at Barclays Capital where he was global head of insurance-linked structuring and at Merrill Lynch within its M&A and corporate finance division.

Pollett said of the appointment: “We are delighted to welcome Dan to our team. He is a great addition to Montpelier at a key time in the evolution of our alternative capital products."
