Gallagher Re strengthens its LatAm offering with here of Thiago Navega

Gallagher Re, the specialist global reinsurance broker formerly known as Capsicum Re, has appointed Thiago Navega as director of its Brazilian operation.

He joins from Brazilian re/insurance brokerage Inter Risk Services, where he was head of energy, marine and renewables, before which he spent over six years with Brazilian insurer Austral Seguradora, leading the energy and marine division. He has also served as assistant vice president in Marsh’s energy, oil and gas division in Rio.

Navega has a particular focus on the global energy sector and is based in Rio de Janeiro, reporting to Luiz Araripe, chief executive officer of Gallagher Re in Brazil.

Rupert Swallow, chief executive officer of Gallagher Re, said the appointment comes at an “important time for Gallagher Re in Brazil and in Latin America, with our rebrand last month marking a new chapter in the story of our fast-growing business and plans for global expansion.”
