Mike Karmilowicz has been named executive vice president of Everest Insurance and president of Everest Insurance’s property and casualty business in North America.

Karmilowicz joined Everest in July 2015 and was most recently senior vice president of Everest Insurance and president of Everest Specialty Underwriters (ESU). He also held management responsibility for the specialty insurance group (SIG), which provides sports, entertainment and leisure coverage.

In his new role he partners Vincent Vandendael, CEO of Everest Global Markets, to deliver customised insurance solutions to clients globally.

Juan Andrade, president and CEO of Everest Re Group, praised Karmilowicz’s work at ESU and SIG. “We look forward to him leading Everest Insurance® North America P&C with the same level of enthusiasm, focus and results,” he said.

ESU comprises the executive solutions group, which includes financial institutions, public and private directors and officers, and cyber; professional liability; alternative solutions, which includes transactional liability and private equity; political risk and trade credit; and surety segments.
