Chubb names Robert Poliseno as COO for North America field operations
Chubb has appointed Robert Poliseno as chief operating officer of North America field operations.
Poliseno is responsible for overseeing delivery of Chubb's full portfolio of personal and commercial insurance products and services to agent and broker distribution partners and assists in the day-to-day management of North America field operations.
He is specifically focused on distribution and marketing, managing Chubb's largest brokerage and key independent agent relationships, data analytics and sales. He also oversees Chubb Insurance Solutions Agency, producer advisor roundtables and agency education services.
Poliseno succeeds Jeffrey Updyke, who has been named head of Chubb's North America small business segment, where he takes on executive operating responsibility for Chubb's retail insurance business that serves small commercial clients in the US and Canada.
In his new role Updyke oversees all facets of the business including strategy, product and business development, underwriting and service operations, and profit and loss performance. He reports to John Lupica, vice chairman of Chubb Group and president of North America Insurance.
Poliseno joined Chubb in 2008 as a vice president of professional risk and most recently served as its regional executive officer for the mid-Atlantic region, a role he held since 2013. Melissa Scheffler assumes that position and leads the local delivery of Chubb's offerings through retail distribution partners throughout the states of Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, Washington DC, Virginia and West Virginia.
Scheffler began her career at Chubb in 1994 and has held a variety of leadership positions in both commercial and personal lines. She most recently served as Mid-Atlantic region chief operating officer, a role she has held since 2018. Prior to ACE's acquisition of Chubb in January 2016, she was the Pittsburgh branch manager.
Poliseno and Scheffler both report to Chris Maleno, senior vice president at Chubb Group and division president for North America field operations.
