Chubb appoints John Keogh as president

Chubb has appointed John Keogh as president and chief operating officer.

Keogh was executive vice chairman of Chubb Group and has served as COO since 2011. He continues to report to Evan Greenberg, chairman and chief executive officer of Chubb, and his current broad companywide responsibilities remain unchanged.

Keogh joined the company, then named ACE, in 2006 as chairman of insurance – overseas general.  He was appointed vice chairman in 2010 and executive vice chairman in 2015.

Before joining ACE he spent 20 years with American International Group (AIG) in various roles, including senior vice president of domestic general insurance and president and chief executive officer of National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, an AIG member company.  He began his insurance career as an underwriter with AIG in 1986.

Greenberg said Keogh’s new title was a better reflection of the work he already does for the company.

Keogh added: " am energised and excited to continue building with [Greenberg] an enduring firm that delivers profitable growth and superior value to our clients, distribution partners, shareholders and employees."
