BMS hires COO for Latin America & the Caribbean

BMS Group, the independent specialist re/insurance broker, has appointed Alejandro Ceron as chief operating officer for the Latin America and Caribbean business. He is based in Miami and reports to Jose Astorqui, CEO of the Latin America and Caribbean business.

Ceron has more than 28 years’ experience in international corporate management. He was most recently the founder and CEO of his own consulting firm in 2016, focusing on corporate governance and organisational growth strategy. He previously worked at Marsh & McLennan in the US and Latin America, leading the HR and sales operation for Latin America between 2002 and 2016.

“BMS has been expanding its operations and increasing its brand recognition in Latin America and the Caribbean since 2015,” said Astorqui: BMS has approximately $200 million in premiums brokered in the region in 2019, he added.

Ceron said: “The Latin American and Miami market has been changing dramatically and I’m excited to join BMS at this phase of development.”
