AXIS Re hires Glass in its North America casualty team

AXIS Re has hired Michelle Glass as a senior underwriter for the North America casualty team.

Glass joins AXIS Re from Munich Re where she spent more than 20 years, most recently as senior vice president and casualty team lead. She previously held underwriting positions at AIG, Interstate International Group and Crum and Foster, with a focus on casualty in North America.

Meanwhile, Halina Herc has transferred to the AXIS Re North America casualty team as a senior underwriter, having previously served on the regional and multiline team. Herc has held several underwriting roles at AXIS Re since joining in 2002, before which she held underwriting roles at Everest Re and Converium in the North American property, casualty and multiline spaces.

Dan Osterrieder, head of North America casualty for AXIS Re, highlighted Glass’ “significant underwriting expertise and knowledge of the US market.”
