AXA XL makes series of appointments in accident, life and health

AXA XL has hired Mark Campbell as underwriting manager, and David Walker as class underwriter, for wholesale accident and health, within the UK life, accident and health team (A&H).

Campbell oversees AXA XL’s UK wholesale A&H underwriting operation, and is responsible for driving profitable growth across the portfolio. He reports to Patrick Corbett, chief underwriting officer for A&H at AXA XL.

Campbell joins from Aspen Insurance UK where has worked as a senior underwriter since 2015. He has more than 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry, at Gow-Gates Insurance Brokers, Marsh, Accident & Health International Underwriting and Sirius International Insurance.

Walker joins from Pembroke Managing Agency where he was a personal accident underwriter. He has more than 28 years’ experience, at C.E. Heath, Johnson & Higgins Insurance Brokers, Aon, Tyser Insurance Brokers and Argo International. He reports to Campbell.

Meanwhile, AXA XL has also appointed Toni LePine as global product leader for retail accident and health, and Andrew Maynard as global product leader for aircrew, ships crew and mobility health benefits. Iain Rowe has also been appointed as underwriting manager for life. All three report to Corbett.
