Aspen Re appoints new CUO as Isaavi departs for RSG

Bermuda-based Aspen Insurance Holdings has appointed Christian Dunleavy as the new chief underwriting officer of its reinsurance business Aspen Re, succeeding Emil Issavi who is leaving the company to join Ryan Specialty Group (RSG).

Isaavi, who was president, CUO and managing director of the Americas at Aspen Re, will become a senior executive of RSG, RSG Underwriting Managers (RSGUM) and Ryan Re Underwriting Managers, an RSG affiliate company.

Dunleavy, previously managing director, Aspen Re and CEO and CUO of Aspen Bermuda, will succeed Issavi as CUO of Aspen Re and join Aspen’s executive committee with immediate effect.

Additionally, Peter Emblin, currently managing director, London & Global head of specialty, Aspen Re, has been appointed senior managing director of Aspen Re.
