Aspen poaches Arch exec as head of mortgage

Aspen Insurance Holdings has created a new role of head of mortgage, and poached an Arch executive to fill the position.

Andrew Rippert joins Aspen with over 20 years’ experience in shaping and building global mortgage re/insurance businesses and portfolios. He takes a seat on Aspen’s reinsurance executive committee.

At Arch Capital Rippert built and led its mortgage credit business. Aspen said the move is part of its focus on finding strategic and profitable growth opportunities across the group.

Rippert reports to Christian Dunleavy, chief underwriting officer at Aspen Reinsurance.

Dunleavy said Rippert’s “market reputation and extensive experience in mortgage and credit risk across insurance and reinsurance products will help us continue to deliver clarity from complexity to our clients. I look forward to working together to enhance our product offering and client solutions.”
