Arch promotes Regan Shulman to general counsel of Arch Insurance North America

Arch Insurance has promoted Regan Shulman to the role of executive vice president and general counsel of Arch Insurance North America.

Shulman succeeds Patrick Nails, who remains in his position as EVP and chief claims officer. She takes on oversight of all legal functions, including litigation, regulatory and legal support for the US and Canada.

She joined Arch Insurance in June 2012 and has progressed within Arch’s legal team, having most recently served as senior vice president and deputy general counsel. She was previously at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan as a litigation associate and special counsel.

In her new role she reports to John Mentz, president of Arch Insurance North America and chief operating officer of Arch Worldwide Insurance Group.

Mentz emphasised Shulman’s contribution to Arch’s legal team since joining the company, and her understanding of the complexities and nuances of leading the legal function.
