Arch appoints Chris Rackliffe as head of accident and health and contingency

Arch Insurance International has appointed Chris Rackliffe as head of accident and health and contingency. He will take up his post in late 2021.

Rackliffe will be responsible for all aspects of the continued development and growth of Arch’s accident & health and contingency portfolio. He will be based in London and report to Lino Leoni, chief underwriting officer for specialty, energy, marine and financial lines.

Rackliffe brings over 25 years of experience to the role, having most recently served as head of contingency and life accident and health at Beazley, a company he joined in 2005. Before that he was a managing director at HCC Specialty, responsible for contingency and sports disability insurance.

Leoni described Rackliffe as “one of the most respected practitioners operating in the accident and health and contingency markets, reflecting his breadth of knowledge and ability to develop comprehensive, relevant coverage.”

He added: “We see significant opportunities within the contingency insurance arena to strengthen our market position.”
