Arcadian appoints chief claims officer

Arcadian Risk Capital, a Bermuda-based managing general agent (MGA) and one of the ‘Class of 2020’, has appointed Chen Foley as chief claims officer.

Chen, a Bermudian national, will manage all aspects of the Arcadian group’s claims function, ensuring consistent delivery of services in line with the company’s strategic direction, and compliance with regulatory and company standards.

A lawyer, Chen was called to the Bar of England & Wales in 2001 and to the Bar of Bermuda in 2002. He has 20 years of related experience in the Bermuda and London re/insurance markets as a claims manager, claims adjuster and coverage counsel.

Prior to joining Arcadian, Chen served Liberty Specialty Markets Agency for more than six years, latterly as head of Bermuda claims and before that as vice president claims manager and coverage counsel.

John Boylan, chief executive officer of Arcadian, said: “We are delighted to welcome an individual of Chen’s calibre, with cross-functional expertise in claims management and provision of counsel. Under his leadership, we are confident that our claims function will continue to meet the service, support, and prompt turnaround times our clients value.”

Foley added: “Arcadian is a dynamic company. I look forward to building out our claims proposition and underlining the firm’s ever-growing position as an innovative and service-oriented business partner.”

Arcadian writes excess general liability, primary and excess professional liability and excess property D&F insurance. Founded in 2020, it has offices in Bermuda, London and Dublin and is regulated to conduct business in each jurisdiction.
