Appleby promotions for Bermuda team

International law firm Appleby has made two new partners in its Bermuda office, with Bermudians Tiffany Boys and Matthew Carr promoted. It’s also appointed Andrew Kuzma and Josephine Noddings as counsel, subject to immigration approval.

The two partners have both been with Appleby for over a decade, joining as trainees, and have built successful practices. Boys is a “Rising Star” in banking, finance and capital markets, according to The Legal 500 client guide. Carr specialises in insurance and reinsurance, including captives, catastrophe bonds, special purpose insurers, and long-term and general business commercial re/insurance. He is a member of the Bermuda Business Development Agency’s (BBDA) Captive Insurance Committee.

Carr is also recognised by Legal 500 as a rising star in insurance and reinsurance.

Noddings, who joined Appleby in 2017, is recommended in the insurance/reinsurance category of the Legal 500. Her practice includes advising on the structuring and formation of investment funds, including master and feeder structures and ILS funds.

Finally, Kuzma practices in the corporate group within securities and corporate law, capital markets, public offerings, private placements and corporate finance, among other areas.

Tim Faries, Bermuda managing partner, said: “Congratulations to Tiffany, Matthew, Andrew and Josephine on their promotions. They are very skilled legal practitioners who are extremely valued by their colleagues, peers and clients. I wish them continued success.”
