Aeolus restructures its management team

Aeolus Capital Management, the asset management company focused on the property catastrophe reinsurance and retrocession market, has promoted Andrew Bernstein to chief executive of Aeolus.

Meanwhile Chris Grasso and Trevor Jones have been named as co-chairmen of the board. Frank Fischer has also been elected to the board of directors.

Bernstein and Grasso are managing partners and co-heads of portfolio management, and continue to serve their portfolio management responsibilities. Jones is a managing partner, while Fischer is partner and chief analytics officer.

Bernstein, Grasso and Jones comprise a management committee to oversee the day-to-day operations and strategic leadership of Aeolus on behalf of the board.

Meanwhile, Henry Kingham and Daina Casling have both been made partners. Kingham is a portfolio manager, while Casling is general counsel and chief compliance officer.

Kingham and Casling take the total number of partners up to eight, which also includes Evan Winters, a portfolio manager, and Jason McAlpine, the chief operating officer and chief financial officer.

Since early 2017 Aeolus has been majority-owned by entities controlled by Elliott Management Corporation and the operating principals of Wand Partners.
