AXA XL appoints marine underwriter in Spain

AXA XL has named Laura García García as marine underwriter for Iberia, based in Madrid.

Garcia is responsible for assisting in the development and management of AXA XL’s marine insurance portfolio in Spain.

García became a specialist marine underwriter during her time as Zurich Insurance Company, which she joined in 2014. In all she has more than 15 years of experience in the insurance sector, and has served at Atradius, Euler Hermes and Willis Towers Watson.

José Enrique Iglesias, underwriting manager for marine in Iberia at AXA XL, described Garcia as “an experienced insurance professional with expertise in both underwriting and broking, which positions her ideally to understand our clients’ needs and help deliver our strategy for marine insurance in Iberia.”
