Vantage Group CFO to leave company

Vantage Group chief financial officer Aurora Swithenbank is leaving the re/insurer to join a US private mortgage insurer based in California.

Swithenbank joined Vantage when it was founded in 2020 and was based in Bermuda.

Effective May 1, she will be executive vice president and CFO of National Mortgage Insurance (National MI) which enables low down payment borrowers to realise home ownership while protecting lenders and investors against losses related to a borrower's default.

Swithenbank will succeed Ravi Mallela, who has held the role since 2022 and will remain with the company until Swithenbank’s appointment to ensure a seamless transition.

Swithenbank led the organisation of Vantage’s finance department as its first chief financial officer. Swithenbank previously spent more than 20 years at Goldman Sachs in a number of roles, including most recently as a partner and head of insurance in the Americas Financing Group.

“Aurora is a uniquely talented executive with an impressive track record of leadership in the banking and insurance industries, and I am delighted to welcome her to our team,” said Adam Pollitzer, National MI’s president and chief executive officer.

“I look forward to working closely with her and the rest of our executive team as National MI continues to deliver innovative solutions for our customers and their borrowers, and execute on our long-term growth and capital strategies to drive value for shareholders.”
