QBE Re boost for its Bermuda office

QBE Re has announced today a major expansion of its Bermuda office with the appointment of Tracey Gibbons as Head of QBE Re, Bermuda. Gibbons joins from SiriusPoint, where she was senior vice president, and has more than 30 years’ experience, having held senior roles at Third Point Re and Allied World.

She’ll be joined by Greg van der Made, also joining from SiriusPoint, as treaty underwriter. He will focus on building the region’s specialty and property reinsurance book. Meanwhile, the SVP underwriting manager and head of property and casualty in Bermuda, David Cary, will see his role expand. Cary will assume responsibility for the day-to-day line management of the growing underwriting team in Bermuda.
