Everest Re hires AIG executive to bolster US facultative presence

Everest Reinsurance has appointed American International Group executive Trevor Gallagher (pictured) to be its head of US facultative reinsurance.

Everest Re, the reinsurance division of Bermuda-based Everest Re Group, Ltd. said Gallagher will report to Anthony Izzo, global head of reinsurance distribution and facultative.

Gallagher will be tasked with expanding Everest's US facultative business, with dedicated service to the US facultative and hybrid market. The company said its Canada facultative business, led by Tom Butler, rounds out Everest’s strong presence and leadership in North America.

“Trevor is an outstanding addition to our leadership team in North America. He is an accomplished industry executive, strategic problem solver, and trusted partner to a deep network of clients and brokers,” said Izzo. “I look forward to working closely with Trevor and his team as we continue to expand our Facultative portfolio and meet the unique needs of our clients and cedants in the US market.”

Gallagher was most recently executive vice president of national accounts for AIG, responsible for managing the specialty portfolio and AIG risk management business strategy as well as driving profitable underwriting results. While at AIG, Gallagher also led the major accounts primary casualty business as well as the transportation division.
