Guy Carpenter taps Convex for Pacific CEO

Bermuda-based Convex Insurance chief underwriting officer Ben Savill will join broker Guy Carpenter as CEO of Pacific, Guy Carpenter announced today. 

Savill, who had been at specialty re/insurer Convex since it was founded in 2019, is based in Sydney and takes up the post on April 1. He will report to Tony Gallagher, CEO of Guy Carpenter Asia Pacific.

Savill will lead and manage Guy Carpenter’s broking organisation in the Pacific region where the company said he will play a crucial role in further developing Guy Carpenter’s growth strategy.

Before joining Convex, Savill was Group CUO of Fidelis in Bermuda and head of North American Treaty for Amlin, also in Bermuda. He started his career in London.

Jeff Saper, who has served as CEO for the Pacific region since 2019, will take on the role of Head of GC Fac, Asia Pacific, and will relocate to Hong Kong. He will succeed Luc Morement, who will assume the role as Regional Sales Leader, Asia Pacific, focused on further developing and growing Guy Carpenter’s strong position in the region. Both positions will be effective from 1 July, 2024.
