JLT Tower Re expansion a signal of intent in Bermuda

JLT Towers Re, which was formed following JLT Re’s acquisition of Towers Watson Re’s global operations, has launched an expanded Bermuda platform as it looks to develop deeper ties with Bermuda carriers.

Bradley Maltese, who will head up the company’s Bermuda operations, describes Bermuda as a “key marketplace” and says that the merger will “provide further impetus to JLT Towers Re’s growth aspirations in a number of classes of business.”

Guy Hengesbaugh will continue to oversee the day-to-day running of the company’s operations, working with George Daddario to provide services to JLT Towers Re’s North American clients.

Charles Withers-Clarke will head up the firm’s specialty classes including aviation, energy, marine and space, but will also work with other members of the team on specific property and casualty opportunities.

Gary Reynolds and Tom Doyle will lead JLT Tower Re’s focus on ILW’s, property and retro, working in collaboration with colleagues both in the US and London.

The combined businesses in Bermuda will operate from a single base at JLT Park.

Commenting on the new merged entity, Paul Scope, chairman and CEO of JLT Park said, “We are delighted JLT Towers Re Bermuda will be based in the same office as JLT Park.  This will create increased opportunity for these teams to work together and capitalise on each other’s expertise and specialist knowledge.  Since 2008 the JLT Park and JLT Re teams have worked closely and we look forward to building on that collaborative relationship.”
