Everest Re poaches Kelly from Hiscox

Everest Re Group has announced that Matthew Kelly has joined as vice president and head of the reinsurance division’s international casualty facultative unit.

Based in Everest Re’s Miami Office, Kelly will be responsible for worldwide casualty facultative underwriting, excluding business written for US and Canada clients.

Kelly has more than 20 years of industry experience, most recently as regional head of casualty and specialty casualty with Hiscox. He had previously headed up the casualty and specialty casualty underwriting practice for prominent carriers in Latin America and Caribbean. His experience includes insurance operations overseas in Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Argentina.

“We are excited to have someone with Matt’s background joining us in this role,” said Ron Diaz, executive vice president and head of international. “His skills and extensive experience are a welcome addition to the team. Our international facultative operation continues to improve and expand. We look forward to Matt’s contributions in servicing our client needs in the facultative space.”
